Where does the time go? What happen to the days when he was dependent on everyone to get things for him? What happened to the time when he could barely sit up by himself? What happened to the time when he could barely say Nana or Pawpaw! What happened to the days when he was inch worming on the floor to get around? What happened to the days when he loved to be read too? What happened to our little baby?
I can hardly believe that Nicholas is 4 years old! He no longer wants you to do anything for him. He is Mr. Independent now! He can do everything by himself!
He no longer require pillows around him just in case he leaned to far to the left or too far to the right. Now, he will only sit still for a short period of time. He is too busy to sit down. There is just too many things for him to get into!
Words, words, words…non-stop! He always has something to say. Sometimes, he is telling his Pawpaw, “I’m the real Pawpaw Smith”! Or, he is teasing Tre! Most of the time, he is coming to sweet talk his Nana into giving him extra fruit roll-ups, more milk, or another banana!
The days of barely getting around has now turned into running, jumping, skipping, and diving!
Mr. Independent now thinks he can read. So sometimes, it is him reading to us instead of us reading to him! I guess that makes sense! We have only read each book a 1000 times to him!!!
Where does the time go…what happened to our baby! As much as I would love to have him stay small, I also enjoy watching him explore and take on life’s new challenges! I just wish it wouldn’t happen so quickly!

It’s been all the talk around the SMITH household…Super Bowl XLV, Pittsburgh Steelers vs Green Bay Packers! Melvin being a HUGE Steeler fan has been talking non-stop about the beat down the Steelers were going to put on the Packers! He and several of his friends have gone back and forth with trash talk.
Here’s Melvin making a prediction about the game…
Tre came home for a little father and son bonding time while watching the game.

This was certainly a game that went down to the wire, with tons of up and down moments. Take a look at the emotions I captured throughout the game.

We were not short on Steeler paraphernalia, along with balloons, Dirty Towels, t-shirts and a Steeler flag, Melvin pulled out his poster from one of Pittsburgh’s greatest player…Rod Woodson.
When things were going well, Melvin showed it. When things weren’t so good, Melvin showed it!

Tre and Lederic also got in on the action.
The commercials about the VW Beetle got quite a laugh out of Melvin and Tre!

But, in the end, the Packers defeated the Steelers.
Congrats Packers!
