What kid would not want to take a trip to the North Pole!! On Sunday, Nicholas and several other kids, dressed in their pajamas got to do just that! We rode the Polar Express train to the North Pole to see Santa Claus!

Filled with anticipation and very little patience, Nicholas could hardly wait to get to the North Pole. The train could not go fast enough for him. Prior to reaching our destination, we were treated with cookies and hot chocolate and the story the Polar Express. The conductor also took time with each kid as he punched holes in their ticket. He punched the letter “N” in Nicholas’ ticket! That was all good, but still he wanted to know when we would get to the North Pole! AND when would he get to see Santa Claus!

Finally, the conductor announced, Boys and Girls we will be arriving at the North Pole in about 3 minutes. All you could here was the excitement in the kids voices. CHATTER, LAUGHTER, AND SCREAMING! A few minutes later, the conductor interrupted the conversations of those on the train again…BOYS and GIRLS WE MADE IT. WE MADE IT TO THE NORTH POLE! As the kids looked out the windows, they saw lights shining brightly on the house and signs and even reindeers! In order for the kids to see Santa, they had to sing, SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN. Kids and parent alike sung at the top of their voices, ….Santa Claus is com-ing to tooowwwwnnnn! Slowly the front door of the house opened and out came Santa Claus!

Nicholas’ eyes were filled with amazement as he stared out at the window of the train at Santa. MOMMIE, NANA he screamed…then silence! He just couldn’t believe it! He couldn’t believe he was at the North Pole and Santa was there also!

For a brief moment, Santa disappeared but only to appear again on the train! HELLO EVERYBODY, he shouted! Santa sat with every kid on the train to make sure he listened carefully to them name all the things they wanted for Christmas. AND, just like in the book the Polar Express, he gave each kid a BELL and asked them if they BELIEVED!

Santa reached our seat and sat down right beside Nicholas and Beth. So Nicholas, what do you want for Christmas, he asked. Nicholas said, very loudly, BUZZ LIGHT YEAR and WOODY TOO! He had practiced saying that several times! Santa made sure to take note and he gave Nicholas a bell and asked him if he believed. Nicholas said, I BELIEVE!

Nicholas hasn’t stopped talking about his trip and neither can I. To see the excitement and amazement in his eyes was worth it all!

Here are some pictures from our trip!
